Golf
Home to the University of Nevada, Reno Men’s and Women’s Golf teams, this course is well kept and open to the public. Open year-round, this 18-hole course has enough of a challenge to keep the game interesting without making you want to throw your clubs in the creek. You should make sure to arrive early and take advantage of their newly updated practice areas which include a driving range, 100- yard short game area, as well as a chipping and sand shot area.
With your membership to this private club, you gain access to not 1 but 2 picturesque 18-hole courses, 2 restaurants, and a plethora of other benefits. “The Legend” course was designed by Arnold Palmer for the private club golfer looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. While the course winds around ravines, creeks and other challenges it’s easy to feel away from it all, even 15 minutes from downtown. Both courses were designed for the seasoned golfer and are not recommended for anyone just picking up the sport. Don’t forget to say hi to your neighbors when you move in as current members are allowed to bring a guest so they can decide if membership is right for them.
Montreux, a private course, is dedicated to providing an environment that is rich, inviting, and attentive to detail. As the home to the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course in Northern Nevada this attention to detail shines through and Nicklaus himself even considers Montreux to be one of his top five courses. Each year the course is home to the Barracuda Championship, a PGA TOUR event. In the end, this course is a must play for any avid golfer.
